Gospel Crusade in Chuko 01-2010

Dear Friends,

Chuko has been our best and biggest gospel crusade so far, in Ethiopia. The city has around 30.000 people and 11 pastors invited us for this open-air-crusade. We were the first ones to come to Chuko to hold an open-air-crusade, they told us. The meetings took place on an open field 50 x 100 meters.

From the very start the people came in great numbers and night after night the crowd grew. The word of God was being preached and many accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. When it was time to pray for the sick, most of the people stood up for prayer. The people can’t afford a hospital or a doctor and when they get sick they either get healed or they have to live with their sickness. Many come to the crusade just to receive their healing. One woman travelled 100 km to receive her healing and she got what she believed for. She suffered a heart attack and came with much pain. During the prayer the power of God went through her body and all of her pain left.

Another elderly woman testified that she can move her paralyzed legs again and her eyesight returned. She hugged me and kissed me and was beside herself with joy. The next evening she came again to testify that her eyesight got perfect during the night.

Another woman testified that scouldn’t hear anymore because of a tumor. After the healing prayer, she could hear again.

One woman told us, she had a tumor in her back but no money to afford an operation. After prayer the tumor was gone.

Another testified that her goiter was gone, someone that he was healed of kidney problems. Someone testified that the growth on his neck disappeared.

One woman danced on the stage to show that her paralyzed leg is normal again. One man told us that he came with such a pain that it felt like a knife sticking in his body. After prayer the pain was gone.

These are just a few of the many testimonies which I remember. For time reason we didn’t even hear all the testimonies. The excitement and joy of the people is difficult to describe. Thousands danced and praised the Lord spontaneously. There was great joy in the city. The pastors of Chuko invited us to come back and thanked us in a letter which stated:

“Dear guest from abroad!

In the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ we want to thank you for your untired work in Aleta Chuko. From the day of your arrival on Wednesday, Jan.27, until Sunday, Jan.31 the Holy Spirit was with you and did miracles in your services. God bless you for every service you held. We testify, that the Holy Spirit was with you in every service.”

The harvest in Ethiopia is ripe and by faith I will be back in March, April and the first week of June, for another three gospel crusades. In June and July there is rainy season and end of August we will have another crusade. Alltogether we are planning 8 crusades this year. One crusade costs us in total, around Euro 5000,-. I trust the Lord to provide the means and want to thank every one who has helped us in the past. Without your help these crusades would not have been possible.
